We don’t know where he got it from, but recently MacK
thought he was hilarious by reciting “poo poo, bum bum” any opportunity he
could. The first times we thought it was funny too, until we realised that
laughing with him was only encouraging him. Bad parents! Jane implemented a
brilliant fix – she told him that those words were only for the toilet. He
wasn’t prevented from saying them, but had to go to the toilet to do so.
Every time he said it he was sent to the toilet, where he
promptly said it again. His next developmental (?) stage was to ask if he could
go to the toilet. When asked why, he would shout “so I can say poo poo, bum
bum!” Cheeky little bugger! He very quickly tired of the trip to the toilet,
and seems to have forgotten about it all.
He is a funny kid though. He loves vegetables, especially
broccoli and his favourite meal is a meatball and vegetable soup. He calls it
his ‘lovely soup’. He sits at the table and gives his verdict on dinner, which
is invariably “be-licious’. He can say delicious, but prefers the be-licious!
The other night Jane crushed the wee man… in the wee hours
he came into our bedroom telling us that the snow had arrived. This was highly
unlikely, given that we were struggling through a heatwave at the time, and
Jane told him so. He broke down in tears, and Jane had to open the front door
(letting in the oven) to show him there hadn’t been any snow! He was happy
enough at that, and went back to bed. Wonder what he will do if it does snow?
